Lou Ann Hamblin

Lou Ann Hamblin proudly served in the law enforcement profession for 22 years. For the last 20 years, Lou Ann has specialized in training female officers. She is a certified firearms and defensive tactics instructor in a variety of disciplines. Lou Ann serves on the Board of Directors for IALEFI and holds a Master’s degree in Human Performance Technology and Instructional Design from the University of Michigan.

Claude Werner

Claude Werner’s background combines extensive work in the military, personal protection training, and white-collar financial services fields. Claude is a retired Army Captain with 10 years of service in Special Operations. He was also the Chief Instructor of the elite Rogers Shooting School.


Stephannie Weidner

Stephanie Weidner is the CEO and one of the lead instructors at Active Self Protection. She holds instructor certifications from Rangemaster (earning a perfect score on the written test), the NRA, State of South Dakota Certified Use of Force Instructor, CRASE Instructor, verified graduate in the Law of Self Defense Instructor Course, as well as being the first certified Active Self Protection Instructor. She is a special needs mom, the grandma of two littles, and is passionate about helping women use guns and other tools to effectively defend themselves and those that they love.

Morgan Ballis

Morgan is the founder and Chief Firearms Instructor for Defensive Tactics and Firearms, LLC and an NRA Training Counselor.  He has served for over ten years in the infantry field of the United States Marine Corps.  His extensive background in firearms and tactics has allowed him to mentor across multiple branches of service as well as foreign military, police, and security forces.  Morgan has also worked closely with the United States Border Patrol conducting reconnaissance and surveillance missions.  Mr. Ballis is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in active shooter response. Morgan is a proud Board Member for the San Diego County Gun Owners.

MICHAEL TREAT

Michael Treat owner and instructor at Condition Orange Preparedness. Michael Treat is the Owner and Chief Trainer at Condition Orange Preparedness. He has over 25 years experience in corrections, law enforcement and private security and began his teaching/coaching career in 1998 while working as a St. Paul Police Park Ranger – Field Training Officer and again in 2001 as a Minnesota State Corrections Officer – Basic Lifesaving Skills/CPR/AED, Control Tactics and Self-Defense instructor. CHUCK HAGGARD

Chuck Haggard has been active in private defensive training throughout his long career in urban law enforcement. After nearly thirty years of steady upward progression through the ranks of the Topeka Police Department, he ventured out on his own to pursue private training on a more regular basis. Chuck maintains his POST certification and stays active in the law enforcement community, but he now devotes even more time to training other police officers, military personnel, security forces, and private citizens on the art and science of personal defense.

STEVE MOSES

Steve Moses has been a defensive firearms trainer for over 26 years and is a licensed Texas Personal Protection Officer with 7 years of experience performing as shift lead on a church security detail for a D/FW area metro-church. Steve is a co-owner and Director of Training for Palisade Training Group, LLC based in Dallas, Texas. Moses is a retired deputy constable and spent over 10 years on a multi-precinct Special Response Team. He owns multiple instructor certifications, including Rangemaster Advanced Handgun Instructor and Defensive Shotgun Instructor, Red Zone Knife Defense Instructor and Adaptive Striking Foundations Instructor, Modern Samurai Project Red Dot Sight Instructor, and State of Texas Personal Protection Officer Instructor. Steve holds a BJJ Brown Belt in Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He is a content contributor for CCW Safe and writes weekly articles on various subjects of interest to concealed carriers. Moses shoots competitively and holds an IDPA Expert rating. Steve is an annual presenter at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference.

MELODY LAUER

Melody Lauer, started behind the gun counter selling firearms and as a range safety officer. She got her NRA Basic Pistol Instructor credentials in 2007 and has been training and competing in firearms ever since. Her passion for self defense and carry have led her to train outside of the realm of firearms to include hand-to-hand, knife, medical and fitness fields. Her journey through self defense inspires her to write about what she observes and learns. Her goals are to inspire, learn and share those lessons with others. Melody is a contributing author for Recoil Web and numerous other publications. She championed baby-wearing and concealed carrying strategies for new mothers, opening up self defense options to young families in a manner that had not perviously been well developed. Melody is one of the lead trainers and founders of Citizens Defense Research a training group dedicated to providing contextual, applicable, and PEER REVIEWED information and training for legally armed citizens.

ROBYN SANDOVAL

Robyn Sandoval is a converted anti-gunner, who gained national attention with her journey from gun control to gun rights. She is the Executive Director, of A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League. Robyn is a Certified Pistol Instructor, Range Safety Officer, and has trained under several notable instructors. She serves on the Board of Directors of the DC Project and is the Managing Editor for Women & Guns magazine. She is a frequent speaker at national conferences and podcasts on gun-related issues, and was on the cover of TIME magazine in November 2018. For her advocacy work, she was honored with the 2019 Defender of Liberty Award from the Second Amendment Foundation. Robyn holds a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude from St. Edward’s University.

VARG FREEBORN

Varg Freeborn is an author, self-defense and gunfight instructor, lethal force educator, fitness coach, a father and a family man. He is a current cadre guest instructor to multiple law enforcement facilities and associations such as the Ohio Tactical Officer’s Association and the Alliance Police Training Facility (Alliance, OH)  and is well known in the law enforcement and task force communities. His experience with criminal violence, concealment as a field craft, close fighting (especially with weapons), and criminal mindset are unsurpassed in the self-defense industry for the specific lane of civilian criminal violence. He is most well known for his “Violence of Mind” course work, which focuses on the mindset aspect of training and fighting in a way that few have ever been able to approach.
